1. What is Neurobiofeedback?

Neurobiofeedback is also known as EEG Biofeedback. It is a process of reading and analyzing brain waves. Brain waves can be measured by placing electrodes on a patient's scalp. When a patient is then asked to do a particular activity (memory, math, relaxation ) these brain waves will change. During the evaluation a map can be made of each patients brain waves. The patient can then learn how to adjust their brain waves to be more functional and successful. by learning how to train their brain to utilize specific brain wave patterns.

2. How many sessions will I need?

Neurobiofeedback has been shown to be effective for many disorders ( and is also extremely helpful for people who just want to achieve maximal brain ability ). The average number of sessions is between 30-50 for maximal effect.

3. Will I keep the effect once I've successfully complete my course?

Yes!

4. What ages can utilize Neurobiofeedback?

Researches have worked with children as young as 2 utilizing Neurobiofeedback. Most practitioners begin Neurobiofeedback in their offices with children from the ages of 4 and up. As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr Fleissner has years of expertise treating children and adolescents of all ages.

5. Is Neurobiofeedback covered under insurance?

Dr Fleissner does not work with insurance plans at this time. Payment can be made at the time of service for individual sessions or a package rate of sessions may be purchased.

6. Can I or my child be on medications and do Neurobiofeedback?

Yes. There is no contra indication to medication usage and Neurobiofeedback. The ultimate goal may be to lower the medication dosage or even be able to discontinue medications as the training progresses. Dr Fleissner is a Medical Doctor and will be able to work with you on both these issues simultaneously optimizing your outcome.
